A senior Russian army officer has been declared dead following an explosion in Moscow, according to an investigative body.
The event took place on Monday morning when an IED planted beneath a vehicle exploded, resulting in the death of Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov.
Sarvarov held the position of the head of the armed forces' unit responsible for operational readiness.
