The Streaming Platform to Bring a Popular Game TV Series from the Minds of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The latest Far Cry game that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it has a reputation for celebrating violence and insanity with equal excitement, all while weaving gripping, socially charged stories. It’s no surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two visionaries whose projects have embodied all of those qualities.

Show Details

Based on Ubisoft's popular video game series, the short-run anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The show will also follow the video games' style by introducing a fresh backdrop and cast of characters in subsequent series.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series under their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed magnificent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and wildly entertaining. We also want to thank our associates at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also star in the show, but as of now, we have no details on what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the producer.

“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, placing faith in us with one of the most renowned video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX family always encourages me with their ongoing trust and support.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style series. Each game is a interpretation of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a variation on a premise,” said Hawley. “To create a epic action show that can shift from year to year, while always exploring the essence of humanity through this complex and chaotic viewpoint, is a long-held aspiration. I’m excited to partner with Rob and introduce our common irreverent, daring style to the audience.”

A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
